This listing is for one seed of the hybrid between Anthurium magnificum and Anthurium 'Bat Boy'. 'Bat Boy' is an unidentified Anthurium from the collection of the legendary aroider and plantsman John Banta. If I were to guess, it's a hybrid he did some time long ago, perhaps between Mexican Anthuriums such as clarinervium x verapazense. It's characterized by a very fine papillate/bullate texture and pronounced posterior lobes.
Here's the backstory on this cross - Back in 2021, I pollinated an inflorescence on my Anthurium magnificum with pollen from 'Bat Boy'. Due to the small amount of pollen, I applied the bulk of the pollen to the bottom half of the inflorescence with a brush, and marked the location with a knife. I think took the leftovers of the pollen on the foil in which it was stored and used my hands to apply it to the rest of the inflorescence. As such, I have good confidence that the seeds produced by the bottom half of the inflorescence are indeed the hybrid between the two plants. As for the upper half, there is less certainty, thus I have listed these seeds for a lower price as 'The gamble'.
I only have 30 seeds of 'The sure thing', and 35 of 'The gamble', and I'll be keeping 5 of each, so supplies are extremely limited. As such, I will be limiting purchases to maximum 2 per customer. I can ship internationally by request - send me a message on Instagram or over email to coordinate.
If you need a heat pack due to cold weather, I've created a separate listing to add it to your cart.
Thank you for supporting my hybridizing efforts and my small business!
